Frequently Asked Questions

What do pickleball ratings mean?
Pickleball ratings typically range from 2.0 (beginner) to 5.5+ (professional). 2.5-3.0 is beginner, 3.0-3.5 is intermediate, 3.5-4.0 is advanced intermediate, 4.0-4.5 is advanced, and 4.5+ is competitive/tournament level.
What is DUPR rating?
DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating) is the most widely used rating system. It uses match results (wins, losses, point differentials) against rated opponents to calculate a dynamic rating. It updates after every recorded match.
How can I improve my pickleball rating?
Focus on your weakest skill area (usually the third shot drop or soft game). Play with better players, take lessons, drill specific shots, and play in organized events. Most players improve 0.5-1.0 rating points in their first year of focused play.
