How do I calculate my test grade?
Divide the number of points (or questions) you got correct by the total number of points (or questions), then multiply by 100. For example, 42 correct out of 50 = (42/50) x 100 = 84%.
How many questions can I miss on a 50-question test and still get an A?
For an A (93%), you need at least 47 correct out of 50, so you can miss 3 questions. For an A- (90%), you need 45, so you can miss 5.
Does my teacher round up test scores?
Rounding policies vary by teacher. Some round up at 0.5% (e.g., 89.5 rounds to 90), some don't round at all, and some give a bump at borderline grades. Check your syllabus or ask your instructor.
